I have been hoping for a close-up shot of Cedar Waxwings for weeks, so imagine my delight when two of them flew past me and perched on branches just ten feet away from me in South Park Wildlife Management Area in Jackson Hole, WY. Fortunately, I had my camera set at a high shutter speed and managed to capture this one's take-off.
Excellente capture! du grand art!
What an awesome shot of such an amazingly beautiful bird! I've been just wanting a good look at those little buggers. They like to be high in trees, away from cameras. They're skittish too, can't get near tree without all them flying away.
Thanks for your comments, and I know what you mean about their being skittish birds. I hope you get a close-up photo op of them soon.
Wonderful!! I love the little red tips glowing in the sun....
wow what kin of beautiful bird is this what a gorgeous photo!
Thanks for your kind comment on "Waxwing Launch." The bird is a cedar waxwing--and they are indeed beautiful birds.
Wow, beautiful capture! The action is so clear and sharp
Wonderful capture! Just lovely!
Fantastic capture. Simply wonderful.
I especially like the feet. One doesn't usually see them when a bird is in flight but you snapped at the critical moment.
