I don't know why, but I love the lighting at dawn. That lighting really gave this photo this atmosphere I can't exactly explain. Like it's the "dawn of time"... pun? Well, it gives it a very good feel. It's soft and whether these birds are related or not, it looks like a family moment I really love this picture. Really good job.
Thanks so much for your kind and thoughtful comments. I, too, love the early morning light, although I would have guessed--because of your DA name--that you like moonlight more. Not that one has to choose between them, of course. They're both beautiful.
Hello I just wanted to let you know that this photo has been featured as one of #Bird-Photography's and/or #Birds-Club's top submissions for the month of April . You can visit the article which also contains other beautiful bird art here: [link]
Thanks for your comment, and I do indeed have recommendations for you. Depending on how much time you have, the Ding Darling Wildlife Preserve on Sanibel is marvelous, especially at low tide in the morning; the Everglades are amazing; the Venice Rookery is great for mating and nesting behaviors, but morning is the best time to go; Merritt Island has a phenomenal amount of birds, and one could spend a whole week there alone; one of the best places I went was the Circle B Bar Reserve in central Florida, which is great both in the early morning and late afternoon; finally, Corkscrew Swamp is also definitely worth a visit, for it has a couple of miles of boardwalk and five different kinds of habitat. I'll also be going back to Florida next week but trying some new places as well, so I can't quite recommend them yet, although I hear that they're great, such as St. Marks Wildlife Reserve and several places around Tampa. Best of luck!
