Thanks for your comments on "Avian Ascension." It was actually one of those fortuitious accidents: I had just set the ISO to 100 to take some white flowers, because otherwise they get all washed out. When I saw the goldfinch, I increased the shutter speed but I forgot to change the ISO, and hence the background remained black and the bird and the branch stood out. :-)

May beautiful birds flock before your camera!
